Troops Arrest Two Suspected Kidnappers in Taraba State
WUKARI, Taraba State — Nigerian troops operating under Sector 3 of Operation Whirl Stroke apprehended two individuals suspected of involvement in kidnapping during an intelligence-led operation on March 11.
The operation commenced around 9:00 a.m. in Arufu Village, a locale identified in connection with a series of recent kidnappings. Initial reports indicate that one suspect was detained and initially denied involvement but later confessed to participating in kidnapping activities that occurred in February.
Following further investigation, troops proceeded to Chinkai Community, where they arrested a second suspect believed to be an accomplice.
Authorities recovered several items during the operation, including two mobile phones, a locally made knife, and a total of ₦21,520.
The suspects, along with the recovered items, are currently in military custody as investigations continue and preparations for potential prosecution are underway.
