Troops Neutralize Suspected Boko Haram Fighter in Adamawa Operation

Gwadale, Adamawa State — Soldiers participating in Operation HADIN KAI, along with local vigilantes and the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), neutralized a suspected Boko Haram fighter and seized logistics items during an ambush in Gwadale, a deserted village along the Ngoshe–Kirawa road.

The operation occurred early Thursday, at approximately 12:50 a.m., according to a social media post by Zagazola Makama, a counter-insurgency and security expert focused on the Lake Chad region.

During the engagement, troops confronted a group of suspected terrorists transporting logistics supplies. A high volume of gunfire was exchanged, resulting in the neutralization of one individual. Reports indicate that the remaining suspects fled the scene, potentially sustaining gunshot wounds.

Following the confrontation, troops conducted a thorough search of the area, recovering one carton of detergent and a bag of salt. The unit returned to their forward operating base in Pulka around 2:30 a.m.

Makama noted that this operation exemplifies ongoing efforts to disrupt Boko Haram’s supply lines and enhance security in the region.
