Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria Mourns Gospel Icon Ron Kenoly
The President of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Bishop Wale Oke, expressed profound sorrow over the passing of acclaimed gospel musician Ron Kenoly, who died at the age of 81.
In a heartfelt tribute, Bishop Oke described Kenoly as a “true worshipper,” emphasizing that his life and ministry were devoted to honoring God. “Farewell to a true worshipper, Ron Kenoly,” Oke wrote, noting Kenoly’s humility and his commitment to glorifying God through his music.
Bishop Oke highlighted Kenoly’s significant spiritual depth and the anointing he brought to his ministry. He remarked that Kenoly’s music and teachings had a profound impact, leading individuals and nations into transformative worship experiences.
Reflecting on their interactions, Bishop Oke recalled hosting Kenoly on several occasions across Nigeria and internationally. He described these experiences as an honor and praised Kenoly’s unwavering dedication to the Christian faith. “He carried the presence of God wherever he ministered,” Oke stated, adding that Kenoly’s influence would resonate across generations.
While mourning the loss, the PFN president offered solace in the belief that a life devoted to God’s service is never in vain. He extended his condolences to Kenoly’s wife, children, and grandchildren, praying that they find strength and peace during this difficult time.
Bishop Oke concluded his message by quoting Revelation 14:13, reflecting on Kenoly’s enduring legacy and the blessings of his rest after a life of dedicated labor.
