UCL: ‘He said it five times’ – Mbappe reveals Prestianni’s comments to Vinicius

Real Madrid Forward Claims Racial Remarks Directed at Vinicius Junior
Real Madrid forward Kylian Mbappe has stated that he heard allegedly racist remarks made by Benfica’s Gianluca Prestianni directed at teammate Vinicius Junior during a recent Champions League knockout match.
The game was paused for ten minutes after Vinicius, who had just scored the only goal with a remarkable finish, declined to continue following the comments made by Prestianni. The incident occurred when Prestianni lifted his shirt over his mouth before speaking to Vinicius.
Referee Francois Letexier intervened amid the escalating situation, halting play to address the incident.
“I heard it, and there are players from Benfica who heard it too,” Mbappe told reporters. He refrained from naming Prestianni directly, stating, “The number 25 from Benfica – I don’t want to say his name, because he doesn’t deserve it.” Mbappe went on to reiterate the offensive comment, alleging that Prestianni said, “Vinícius is a monkey” multiple times.
The incident has raised concerns regarding racial abuse in sports, prompting calls for further investigation.
