Victor Osimhen Aims for UEFA Champions League Milestone with Galatasaray
ISTANBUL — Victor Osimhen will strive to etch his name in history as Galatasaray’s leading goal scorer in a single UEFA Champions League season when the team faces Juventus in their playoff matchup.
Currently, Osimhen has netted six goals in six appearances for Galatasaray in the tournament this season. The Nigeria international is just two goals shy of matching Burak Yilmaz’s record of eight goals achieved during the 2012-13 season.
In addition to his Champions League performance, the 27-year-old striker has recorded nine goals in 16 league matches this term.
Galatasaray is set to host Juventus in the first leg of their playoff at RAMs Park on Tuesday, with the return fixture taking place in Turin the following Wednesday.
