Watch your back not to explode like PDP – Bala Mohammed tells APC after meeting Tinubu

Bauchi Governor Issues Warning to APC Following PDP’s Collapse
Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed has urged the All Progressives Congress (APC) to exercise caution to avoid a fate similar to that of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), which faced significant internal turmoil.
Speaking to reporters after a closed-door meeting with President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, Mohammed emphasized the importance of vigilance following the APC’s primary elections. He warned that the party should be mindful of its growing size, which could invite challenges.
“The APC will need to watch their backs after the primaries, as they are growing larger, much like the PDP,” Mohammed stated.
Reflecting on the PDP’s trajectory, he remarked, “The PDP expanded and ultimately exploded, not imploded.”
Despite ongoing tensions with the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory regarding leadership roles within the PDP, the governor asserted that he does not feel isolated within the party. “I do not feel lonely because I understand my state, and my intention is to stay back and observe how elections are won at the polling booth. Elections are won locally, not nationally,” he noted.
