We’re hitting more terrorists – NAF assures

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has expressed its unwavering commitment to diminish the fighting capabilities of terrorists, continuing efforts from 2025. This was reiterated by the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, during a gathering for NAF veterans coinciding with the 2025 Base Annual Social-Cultural Activities (BASA) in Maiduguri.
Air Marshal Aneke emphasized NAF’s determination to project decisive airpower in support of ground forces engaged in the ongoing battle against insurgency in Nigeria’s North-east region. He highlighted that 2025 had been particularly significant for the Air Component and the 105 Composite Group, operating within a dynamic and complex security environment.
Throughout this year, NAF reported considerable operational achievements across critical regions, including the Timbuktu Triangle, Tumbuns, Sambisa Forest, Mandara Mountains, and the Lake Chad Basin. These operations have led to the disruption of terrorist networks, neutralization of high-value targets, and significant degradation of the enemies’ fighting capabilities.
Aneke attributed these successes to the professionalism, courage, and resilience of the pilots, aircrew, engineers, and support personnel who work tirelessly under challenging conditions to ensure the security of the nation. He also assured that the NAF is committed to providing dignity, care, and institutional support to individuals who served the nation honorably after their retirement.
Overall, the NAF’s ongoing efforts aim to enhance operational effectiveness against insurgency and ensure that service members receive the care they deserve post-service.
