Why I stopped going to church – Skit maker, Caterefe

Caterefe Cites Influence of Sidney Talker in Decision to Step Away from Church

Popular streamer Caterefe has disclosed that advice from skit maker Sidney Talker played a significant role in his decision to stop attending church.

During a recent appearance on The Honest Bunch Podcast, Caterefe shared that he was a regular churchgoer until he received guidance from Talker, whom he viewed as a devoted Christian. The advice he received, however, contradicted Caterefe’s expectations of Talker’s faith.

Caterefe revealed that Talker recommended he cease streaming and suggested he discharge his streaming partner, Kolu, for a sum of one million naira.

“This advice struck me as malicious,” Caterefe stated. “I noticed many churchgoers exhibit harmful behavior. For instance, Sidney Talker attends church regularly but advised me to quit streaming. I find that to be malicious advice.”

Caterefe also recounted another instance where Talker urged him to end his partnership with Kolu, citing concerns over potential retaliation stemming from Kolu’s previous association with Portable, a controversial figure.

“Despite his frequent church attendance, I’m puzzled by Sidney Talker’s fear of juju,” Caterefe said. “I was on the verge of gaining traction in my streaming career when I was suddenly advised to step back. It left me questioning his motives.”

The streamer also reflected on his mental health struggles prior to his foray into streaming, stating that he dealt with depression for several months as skit making waned in popularity. He credited his streaming endeavors with helping him recover from that challenging period.
