Potiskum Police Arrest 18-Year-Old Woman for Alleged Domestic Violence
POTISKUM, Yobe State — An 18-year-old housewife was taken into custody by the Yobe State Police Command following allegations that she mutilated her husband’s genitals during a domestic dispute.
The incident occurred on Friday, leaving the victim in critical condition. Dungus Abdulkarim, the police spokesperson, reported that officers responded promptly to a distress call and discovered the man lying in a pool of blood in his residence.
Police arrived at the scene and, after finding no one else present, immediately transported the victim to a local clinic before referring him to the Azare Medical Centre for additional treatment.
Abdulkarim confirmed that the suspect fled the scene after the attack but was apprehended on Monday. He noted that an investigation is currently underway to clarify the details surrounding the violent act.
The spokesperson stated that while the husband identified his wife as the attacker, he has not yet been able to provide a detailed account of the events due to the severity of his injuries.
