You Will Be Investigated If You Continue This Way – Lawmaker Warns Mercy Chinwo, Husband

The lawmaker representing Afikpo North-East in Ebonyi State House of Assembly, Maria Ude Nwachi, has issued a warning to new bride, Mercy Chinwo and her husband Pastor Blessed over displaying their wealth online.

Recall that Naija News had earlier reported that Chinwo turned 31 on September 5th and her husband took to his Instagram page to pray for her and celebrate her new year.

A subsequent video also showed the moment he gifted her a luxury car to celebrate her birthday.

Many Nigerians had celebrated with the gospel singer on the gift from her husband.

However, reacting to the act via her Facebook account, the lawmaker chided Chinwo and her husband for their public display of affluence.

Nwachi insisted that such display would draw a lot of curiosity which might eventually lead to an investigation.

She went on to state that public display of affluence is mostly seen amongst Nollywood stars and not her type.

She wrote, “Mercy Chinwo & hubby, avoid unnecessary show on social media. Don’t invite scrutiny on yourselves. Biko. Clarification: This type of show by a woman of the bible will bring nothing good for her. One investigation into their doing might bust a lot and those hailing them won’t be able to help them out of it. The investigation can come from the source and to find something no dey hard.

“To make displays that beg to be scrutinized is very very unwise because your subliminal request will surely be answered if you keep it up. Nollywood actresses do these packages and it’s okay but not her type. I did not post that package because I felt sorry for her as she knows not what she is doing. Allow trouble to sleep in peace, no wake am. Thank you.”
