14 Brigade, 15 Brigade form fresh synergy to improve security in Abia, Anambra
Nigerian Army Brigades Enhance Collaboration for Regional Security
The 14 Brigade of the Nigerian Army in Ohafia, Abia State, and the 15 Brigade in Awka, Anambra State, have established a new operational partnership aimed at improving intelligence sharing and managing border security to address security challenges in both states.
This renewed collaboration was formalized on Thursday during a courtesy visit by Brigadier General S. Ahmadu, the Commander of the 15 Brigade, to Brigadier General A.M. Dikko, the Commander of the 14 Brigade, at the latter’s headquarters in Ohafia.
The meeting is part of ongoing initiatives to strengthen inter-formation cooperation among brigades operating under the 82 Division’s jurisdiction.
Brigadier General Ahmadu emphasized the importance of fostering a strong relationship between the two brigades, particularly in areas such as joint operations and border security management, which directly affect Anambra and Abia states. He praised the 14 Brigade for its persistent operational efforts in combating security threats in the southeastern region.
In response, Brigadier General Dikko expressed gratitude for the visit, calling it a timely and strategic move. He highlighted the critical need for continued collaboration among neighboring brigades to effectively combat criminal activities and build upon the achievements already made in the region. Dikko reaffirmed his commitment to the vision set forth by Chief of Army Staff Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu to maintain a professional and combat-ready force.
The meeting underscores the Nigerian Army’s focus on enhancing security cooperation to address the challenges faced in the region.
