2026 U-17 WWC: Dikko, Olopade to lead federal government delegation for Flamingos’ final

A delegation from Nigeria will attend the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup final, led by Mallam Shehu Dikko, Chairman of the National Sports Commission, and Bukola Olopade, the Commission’s Director General. Also included in the delegation is Comptroller-General Adewale Adeniyi of the Nigeria Customs Service.
The highly anticipated final will feature Nigeria competing against Japan at Pitch 3 of the Mohammed VI Football Complex in Rabat, Morocco, on Saturday night. This match marks the 52nd of the tournament.
The Nigerian team, known as the Flamingos, aims to achieve a historic milestone. A victory would make Nigeria the first African nation to win the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup. However, they will face a strong Japanese team that is making its fourth appearance in the final. Japan previously won the tournament in 2014 and is eager to add another title to its accolades.
