Burna Boy and Shakira Perform Official World Cup Anthem at Opening Ceremony

Mexico City – Renowned Nigerian artist Burna Boy and Colombian singer Shakira unveiled the official song of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, titled “Dai Dai,” during the tournament’s opening ceremony on Thursday.

The performance took place at Estadio Azteca, shortly after the opening match, which featured teams from Mexico and South Africa.

This World Cup marks a significant milestone as it is the first to include 48 teams, and it is co-hosted by Mexico, Canada, and the United States.

Burna Boy energized the crowd with his rendition of “Dai Dai,” while Shakira delivered the opening verse following a performance by J Balvin.
