2026 World Cup: It will be top – Ronaldo speaks on facing Messi, Argentina

Ronaldo Expresses Desire to Face Messi at 2026 World Cup
Portugal captain Cristiano Ronaldo has expressed enthusiasm about the possibility of facing Lionel Messi and Argentina in the 2026 World Cup. Ronaldo’s comments came after he scored twice in Portugal’s 4-0 victory over Uzbekistan on Tuesday.
With this win, Portugal now leads Group K with four points.
“Facing Leo Messi at the World Cup? The question doesn’t make a lot of sense… but ok. It would be top,” Ronaldo stated in a media interview following the match.
He added, “But my focus was on today. We won, I have been able to score, we keep going together. I am happy.”
If Portugal secures first place in their group, they could meet Argentina in the quarter-finals of the tournament.
