2027 not war, shun thuggery- Fintiri tells youths

Governor Ahmadu Fintiri emphasized the importance of peaceful participation in the upcoming 2027 elections, urging the youth to avoid becoming instruments of political violence. His remarks were made during a message delivered at the 20th anniversary celebration of the Adamawa State Government House Chapel in Yola on Saturday.

Represented by Deputy Governor Professor Kaletapwa Faruta, Fintiri urged young people, particularly Christian youths, to embody the principles of faith in their conduct before, during, and after the election season. “The coming election is not a war or battle,” he stated. “We should all come out and vote without violence. Youths should participate actively but not as thugs. You must not allow yourselves to be thugs in the hands of politicians.”

The governor called on those who worship at the Government House Chapel, and Christians in general, to maintain their spiritual fervor and ensure that “the fire on the altar” remains ablaze, so that divine blessings can continue for both the state and the nation.

At the event, former Chief of Defence Staff Lt. General Theophilus Danjuma (retired), who served as chairman, was represented by Major General Ishaya Bamaiyi (retired). He encouraged the people of Adamawa to support President Bola Tinubu in the upcoming election, suggesting they should not cast their votes for Atiku Abubakar.
