2027: Osun already in bag for Tinubu – Bashir Ahmad

Former presidential aide Bashir Ahmad has voiced confidence that President Bola Tinubu has secured support from Osun State for the upcoming 2027 general elections. Ahmad shared his perspective in a post on his verified X account on Thursday.
His comments follow a visit by Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, who met with Tinubu and other members of the state chapter of the Accord Party, during which he presented Tinubu with his Certificate of Return.
Ahmad remarked, “President Bola Tinubu has Osun on both sides, with the ruling party (Accord) and the main opposition (APC) both firmly within his political orbit.” He emphasized his belief that the current political landscape in Osun strongly favors Tinubu, declaring, “For President Tinubu, Osun is already in the bag. The political dynamics in the state have already pointed in one direction, the Renewed Hope and victory in 2027.”
According to reports, Adeleke recently won the August 15, 2026, gubernatorial election, receiving 511,067 votes. His opponent, Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress (APC), garnered 444,815 votes. Najeem Salaam from the African Democratic Congress (ADC) placed third with 17,180 votes.
