Obi announced the engagement in a statement shared on his X account on Saturday, revealing that the meeting occurred on Friday, June 5, 2026.

The discussions focused on understanding how effective health insurance systems can improve healthcare delivery, with an emphasis on primary and emergency care services, according to Obi.

He reiterated that one of his primary health objectives is to expand health insurance coverage, alongside strengthening primary healthcare services in Nigeria’s electoral wards. Additionally, he aims to train more healthcare workers and improve access to affordable, quality healthcare across the country.

Obi framed the discussions as a necessary step towards his commitment to establishing a healthier Nigeria through more robust and efficient healthcare systems.
