2027: Stop deceiving yourselves, Tinubu can’t campaign – Rufai Oseni to APC supporters
Rufai Oseni, anchor of Arise Television’s Morning Show, has expressed doubts about President Bola Tinubu’s ability to conduct a comprehensive campaign across Nigeria in advance of the 2027 general election.
Oseni rejected the notion that Tinubu’s reported plan to focus his campaign efforts on only 12 states was a strategic decision. Instead, he suggested that the president lacks the capacity for a broader campaign.
His comments came during a discussion on political developments related to the upcoming presidential election on Friday. Oseni noted that Tinubu had campaigned widely in numerous states during the 2023 general election, even when he was not a presidential candidate.
Referencing former President Muhammadu Buhari’s campaign approach, Oseni highlighted that Buhari often visited two states in a single day to cover more ground efficiently, completing his campaign schedule within 18 days.
Oseni argued that characterizing Tinubu’s limited campaign itinerary as a strategic choice is misleading. “He doesn’t have the capacity to campaign,” Oseni stated. “Let’s stop deceiving ourselves.”
He further criticized the current political climate, emphasizing a lack of progress in Nigeria and calling attention to the ongoing challenges that have persisted since 2015.
