2027: Tinubu listens, cares for Nigerians – Wike
Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), affirmed on Thursday that President Bola Tinubu is attentive to the needs of Nigerians. During an inspection of the ongoing Apo-Karshi and Bwari-Kubwa road projects, Wike stated that the Tinubu administration is effectively addressing citizens’ concerns, making it unlikely for them to reconsider their support for the president.
Wike emphasized that good governance is the key measure of a government’s success. “If good governance is a barometer to measure whether a government has succeeded or not, then we have nothing to fear,” he said. He added that the current administration not only listens to the populace but also actively works to resolve their issues.
In addressing potential opposition ahead of the 2027 elections, Wike expressed confidence in Tinubu’s reelection. “What will the people who come [as opponents] offer? They will tell stories. But we have not come with stories; we have come with facts, verifiable facts,” he asserted. Wike stated he has no doubt Tinubu will emerge victorious, saying, “I can beat my chest…I have no fear at all.”
The minister also highlighted that Tinubu’s “Renewed Hope Agenda” has broadened development efforts beyond the capital city to include satellite communities. “The Renewed Hope administration has redefined infrastructure delivery as far as FCT is concerned, not just within the city, but also within satellite towns,” Wike said. He expressed gratitude for having a president who prioritizes equitable development across the region.
