The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) expressed its commitment to securing Aso Rock, the presidential residence, in the upcoming 2027 elections. The party made this declaration via a post on its verified account on X (formerly Twitter) on Friday.
In the same statement, the NDC refuted claims of internal turmoil, which have been circulated in various reports.
This announcement follows a closed-door meeting between the party’s national leader, Seriake Dickson, and presidential candidate Peter Obi. During the meeting, Dickson noted that they reviewed the party’s activities and addressed recent concerns affecting its members.
“All issues were amicably resolved,” he stated. Dickson emphasized the importance of ongoing consultation among party members to strengthen unity and address any lingering concerns.
