2027: Zoning not important, we want someone to salvage Nigeria – Baba-Ahmed

Peoples Redemption Party to Field Presidential Candidate Without Zoning Considerations
The Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) announced that it will nominate a presidential candidate irrespective of the individual’s regional, ethnic, or religious background.
In an interview with Arise Television on Thursday, Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, the National Chairman of the PRP, emphasized that qualifications and capability take precedence over geographic representation.
“Fielding a candidate from a particular zone is not important. I believe that it doesn’t matter where the candidate is coming from,” Baba-Ahmed stated. He criticized the insistence on regional zoning for presidential candidates, stating that it has negatively impacted the country.
“Look, we lived for eight years under a very inept, incompetent, and indifferent administration of President Muhammadu Buhari. He was from the north,” he added, reflecting on his views regarding regional leadership and governance.
