Event Decorator Killed in Benin City Attack

Benin City, Edo State — A 30-year-old event decorator, identified as Ms. Esohe Aigbe, was reportedly murdered by an unknown assailant on Ojo Street in the Ogida area of Egor Local Government Area.

Sources indicate that Aigbe was in the area to assist a friend with funeral decorations at no charge when the attack occurred. Relatives who spoke with reporters stated that Aigbe had just completed her task and was still in the vicinity when she was assaulted by unidentified individuals.

The attackers reportedly inflicted severe injuries on Aigbe, leaving her in a pool of blood. She was transported to the University of Benin Teaching Hospital for medical attention, but hospice personnel were unable to save her.

Family members described Aigbe as a dedicated breadwinner whose life was tragically cut short while serving her community. “Esohe was quiet, focused, and committed to her work as a decorator. She had built a strong reputation for her exceptional work in decorating funeral and event venues,” they said.

Relatives called on law enforcement agencies to ensure the perpetrators are apprehended and prosecuted. They also urged anyone with information regarding the incident to contact the police to aid in the investigation.

The Public Relations Officer of the Edo State Police Command, ASP Eno Ikoedem, confirmed the attack and stated that a suspect has been arrested in connection with the case.
