35 Artillery Brigade gets new commander

Nigerian Army’s 35 Artillery Brigade Sees Leadership Transition
Abeokuta, Ogun State — The 35 Artillery Brigade of the Nigerian Army, under the 81 Division, held a change of command ceremony on Friday. Brigadier General Friday Onu officially took over as the new commander, succeeding Brigadier General Godwin Nwamba.
Brigadier General Nwamba has been reassigned to the Army Headquarters Department of Civil-Military Affairs, where he will serve as the Acting Deputy Chief of Civil-Military Affairs (Psychological Operations).
During the ceremony at Alamala Barracks, Brigadier General Nwamba expressed gratitude to the officers and soldiers for their support throughout his tenure. He urged the brigade personnel to extend the same cooperation to General Onu, highlighting the value of their knowledge of the operational environment.
In his remarks, General Onu praised his predecessor for significant achievements during his leadership and congratulated him on his new role. He called on the brigade’s officers and soldiers to remain dedicated to their duties and uphold high standards of professionalism.
General Onu emphasized the importance of soldiers’ welfare and the need for collaboration, dedication, and support to further the brigade’s objectives.
