Two Dead, Three Injured in Plateau State Petrol Station Explosion
Two individuals lost their lives, and three others were injured in an explosion at a petrol station in the Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State on Saturday.
The Plateau State Police Public Relations Officer, Superintendent Alfred Alabo, confirmed the incident in an official statement. He clarified that the explosion, which had been incorrectly reported online as a bomb blast, was actually an industrial accident.
“The Plateau State Police Command has been alerted to false, misleading, and alarmist reports circulating that allege a bomb blast and outbreak of crisis in Plateau State,” Alabo stated.
According to the police, the explosion occurred at Natty Petroleum Investment Nigeria Ltd while artisans were conducting welding repairs on an underground storage tank.
“The Plateau State Police Command received a report of an explosion that occurred at Natty Petroleum Investment Nigeria Ltd, a filling station located in Daffo District, during welding work,” the statement added.
