U.S. President Donald Trump announced that American forces have successfully seized an Iranian-flagged cargo ship attempting to breach a naval blockade near the Strait of Hormuz.
Details surrounding the incident remain limited, as Iranian officials have not yet commented on the situation.
In a statement shared on social media, Trump reported that the cargo ship, identified as Touska, received warnings from a U.S. Navy guided missile destroyer while in the Gulf of Oman. According to the President, the crew of the Touska did not comply with the directives.
Trump stated that U.S. forces “stopped them right in their tracks by blowing a hole in the engine room.” He further indicated that U.S. Marines are currently in control of the vessel and are in the process of investigating its cargo.
