Suspected Filial Homicide in Jigawa State: Man Arrested for Allegedly Killing Father
KAZAURE, Jigawa State — A 27-year-old man, Kabiru Nuhu, is in police custody following allegations that he killed his biological father. Nuhu reportedly poured petrol on his father and set him ablaze, a shocking act that has drawn attention in the local community.
Authorities confirmed Nuhu’s arrest occurred after he was found with burns on his clothing, specifically a pair of red trousers. His confession came during police interrogation, where he cited a longstanding family dispute as the motive for his actions.
In statements made during the investigation, Nuhu explained that he had experienced ongoing issues with his father that resulted in feelings of abandonment. “I have been having problems with my father for a long time, which made him abandon me,” he said. “I was not happy with the situation, and I therefore decided to take this decision.”
Family members indicated that the father and son had not communicated for over two years. They described Nuhu as having been neglected and treated like an outcast within the family.
According to reports, the suspect struggles with drug addiction, and attempts at rehabilitation were unsuccessful, leading to the father’s decision to distance himself.
