LAFIAGI, Kwara State — Armed assailants attacked the Chekugi Community in the Lafiagi Emirate early Tuesday, resulting in the death of one resident and the abduction of several family members during a midnight raid.
According to sources close to the incident, the assailants struck around 2 a.m., targeting the home of a man identified as Yellow Kabari. Reports indicate that Kabari was killed during the attack, while several family members were taken hostage and transported to an undisclosed location.
The attack has left community members in shock, heightening fears regarding the escalating insecurity in the region. Residents are urging security agencies to strengthen measures to protect lives and property.

In a related development, Nigerian military forces have apprehended a notorious bandit known as ‘Sule Yellow’ after he allegedly received ransom payments for kidnappings.
