Police fixes date for recruitment exams in Kano, issues warning to applicants

Kano State Police Announce Examination Dates for Constable Recruitment

The Kano State Police Command has officially scheduled the written examination for police constable recruitment from April 28 to April 30, 2026. Candidates are advised to follow all guidelines and to avoid falling prey to fraudulent schemes.

In a statement released on April 25, the Police Service Commission (PSC), in partnership with the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), confirmed that this recruitment exercise will take place nationwide at designated centers across all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

In Kano, the examination will be held at the North-West University Main Campus situated along Muhammadu Buhari Way.

Only applicants who have successfully completed the physical and credentials screening will be permitted to take the examination. Qualified candidates can begin printing their examination invitation cards from April 24, 2026, through the official recruitment portal. These cards will detail the date, time, and venue for each candidate’s test.

Candidates must bring several items to the examination, including a pen, their National Identification Number (NIN) slip with a clear photograph, and a printed copy of their examination invitation card. Adherence to a strict dress code is required, which consists of white shorts, a white T-shirt, and white canvas shoes.

The PSC has reiterated that the recruitment process is entirely free, warning candidates against any attempts at job racketeering or financial inducement. “The recruitment process is wholly free, and any solicitation of money from applicants will be met with legal consequences,” the commission stated.

Kano State Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, has urged candidates to adhere to all instructions and maintain order throughout the examination process. He advised applicants to arrive early and to conduct themselves professionally during the examination.

The command remains committed to ensuring a transparent and credible recruitment process.
