Nigerian Army Conducts Successful Operation Against Suspected Terrorists in Zamfara State
Troops from the Nigerian Army’s 1 Brigade, in coordination with Operation FANSAN YAMMA, have neutralized a suspected terrorist and destroyed multiple camps during a recent initiative in Zamfara State.
The operation took place early on April 27, around 4:00 a.m., in the Dan Gajeru and Kokomba areas of the Tsafe Local Government Area. Security analysts, including counter-insurgency expert Zagazola Makama, reported the development through social media.
During the patrol, troops encountered armed individuals identified as suspected terrorists, leading to an exchange of gunfire. One combatant was neutralized, and the troops seized valuable items, including two locally fabricated firearms, two motorcycles, eight mobile phones, and various hard drugs.
In addition to the neutralization, several camps used by the terrorists were dismantled. Security sources emphasized that the operation is part of ongoing efforts to clear the area and prevent the resurgence of criminal activity.
