Lagos APC Celebrates Workers on 2026 Workers’ Day
LAGOS – The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has issued its greetings to the workforce as Nigeria observes Workers’ Day on May 1, 2026. The party acknowledged the essential role workers play in the growth and development of the state.
In a statement released on Friday, APC Chairman Cornelius Ojelabi praised the dedication and resilience of workers throughout Lagos, noting their significant contributions to the region’s progress. He emphasized that the workforce is crucial to the state’s continued advancement, noting their efforts in maintaining Lagos’ status as a prominent center of excellence.
Ojelabi highlighted the vital role workers have played in the state’s achievements since the establishment of democratic governance, characterizing them as the backbone of Lagos’ development.
He further noted the contributions of workers nationwide under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, emphasizing that their collective actions have fostered stability and economic growth.
The chairman reaffirmed the APC-led administration’s commitment to timely salary payments and the ongoing enhancement of labor standards in alignment with global best practices.
Ojelabi also expressed appreciation for the consistent support provided by youths, women, and men in the workforce, recognizing their importance in national development. He expressed optimism that sustained collaboration between the government and workers would promote increased prosperity in Lagos and strengthen the nation’s overall growth.
