We can’t grant you access to El-Rufai – ICPC replies ADC

ICPC Denies Visit Request for El-Rufai
The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has rejected a request from the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to visit Nasir El-Rufai, who is currently in the Commission’s custody.
In a letter dated May 21, 2026, addressed to the National Secretary of the ADC in Abuja, the ICPC stated that the request could not be accommodated. The letter noted that El-Rufai is facing trial in two courts: the State High Court of Justice and the Federal High Court, both located in Kaduna State.
The Commission clarified that, while El-Rufai is in its custody by court order, the case is ongoing, and access to him is restricted. As specified in the letter, only certain individuals have been approved to meet with El-Rufai, including family members, medical personnel, and legal counsel.
In summary, the ICPC stated that the ADC’s application for visitation could not be granted due to these restrictions.
