Shettima jets out to Benin Republic for Wadagni’s inauguration

Vice President Shettima Travels to Cotonou for Presidential Inauguration
ABUJA — Vice President Kashim Shettima has left Abuja for Cotonou to represent President Bola Tinubu at the inauguration of Romuald Wadagni as the President of the Republic of Benin.
The announcement was made on Saturday by Stanley Nkwocha, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Communications.
The inauguration is scheduled for Sunday, May 24, at the Presidential Palace in Cotonou, where Shettima will be joined by other leaders from across Africa and beyond.
Nkwocha noted that Nigeria and Benin enjoy strong historical, socio-cultural, and economic ties, with their bilateral relations often shaped by issues related to border security, trade policies, and energy cooperation.
Shettima will be accompanied by senior aides and key government officials during this trip.
