EPL: Don’t be like Bruno Fernandes – Guardiola warned Man City players

Guardiola Cautions Players Against Negative Behavior Following Manchester Derby Victory
MANCHESTER, England — Pep Guardiola, departing manager of Manchester City, issued a warning to his players regarding their conduct after a recent match against Manchester United. Following City’s 3-0 victory in September, Guardiola emphasized the importance of team unity, drawing a comparison to Manchester United’s Bruno Fernandes.
According to a report from The Athletic, Guardiola highlighted an incident involving Fernandes during the game. After City scored the opening goal through Phil Foden, Fernandes expressed his frustration towards his teammates, openly criticizing them while City celebrated.
Guardiola prepared video evidence of the incident to illustrate his point to his squad. He noted that while Fernandes is a talented player, such negative behavior towards teammates would not be tolerated at Manchester City.
The 55-year-old manager concluded his tenure at the Etihad Stadium at the end of a season in which Fernandes set a record for assists.
