President Federation Cup: Bayelsa United target redemption after NPFL relegation

Bayelsa United Manager Expresses Optimism Ahead of President Federation Cup Match
Bayelsa United’s team manager, Tarila Okoronwanta, remains hopeful about the club’s prospects in the upcoming 2026 President Federation Cup, despite their recent relegation from the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).
The Prosperity Boys are set to face Wikki Tourists in the Round of 32 of the tournament. The match will take place next week at the Lafia City Stadium in Lafia.
Okoronwanta emphasized that the season is not finished for his team. “It is not completely over for us yet. We are still in the Federation Cup Round of 32 and will face Wikki Tourists in Lafia. Anything can still happen,” he said in an interview with Completesports.
He added that the President Federation Cup could offer a much-needed opportunity for the team to regroup and find success.
The winner of the President Federation Cup will earn a spot in next season’s CAF Confederation Cup.
