NDC Primary: Enugu guber aspirant, Ogenyi urges calm as officials fail to show up

Enugu State Governorship Aspirant Urges Calm Amid Election Delays
Enugu State—Hon. Dozie Ogenyi, a governorship aspirant representing the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), has called for patience among his supporters following significant delays at primary election venues. Many party members waited for several hours on Friday without the arrival of election officials.
The NDC conducted its primary elections nationwide, but the situation in Enugu has been particularly problematic, exacerbated by internal party divisions. Ogenyi, accompanied by senatorial aspirant Bishop Oscar Okwudili Ossai and other party leaders, toured various local government areas to address supporters.
During his visits to Nsukka, Igbo-Eze South, Uzo-Uwani, and other localities, Ogenyi acknowledged the frustration surrounding the absence of election officials. He reassured party members that the NDC’s National Leadership would soon provide guidance on the situation.
In Nsukka Local Government Area, supporters grew increasingly restless after failing to see any election officials. Many formed long queues behind their favored candidates, highlighting the eagerness of party members to participate in the electoral process.
