Suspected Bandits Kidnap Woman and Child in Kogi State
IJALU, Kogi State — Suspected bandits attacked the Ijalu area of Egbe in the Yagba West Local Government Area on Wednesday evening, abducting a woman and her young child. The incident has heightened fears among residents in the community.
The victims, identified as Mrs. Idowu Kemi Titilayo and her toddler, were taken during a raid near the Solid Rock School. Eyewitnesses reported that the assailants invaded the area at dusk, firing shots that caused widespread panic, prompting many residents to flee in search of safety.
As of press time, there has been no official comment from the Kogi State Police Command regarding the incident.
This abduction adds to growing concerns over the surge of kidnappings and violent attacks in various parts of North-Central Nigeria.
