APC disowns purported senatorial candidates list in circulation

APC Disavows Inaccurate List of Senatorial Candidates

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has rejected a list of senatorial candidates purportedly circulating on social media, labeling it as unauthorized and false. In a statement released by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, the APC emphasized that the document, titled “Concluded List of APC Senatorial Candidates So Far,” is not affiliated with the party and should be ignored.

Morka reiterated that the APC has not released any candidate lists and cautioned against the dissemination of unverified information that could mislead both party members and the public.

“The list is fake and did not emanate from the Party,” the statement asserted.

The APC urged its members, stakeholders, media organizations, and the general public to disregard the unauthorized publication. It emphasized that only the National Working Committee (NWC) of the APC has the authority to announce candidates from its primary elections and other constitutionally mandated procedures.

The NWC will communicate such announcements through officially sanctioned channels, the statement clarified.

Additionally, the ruling party expressed concern regarding the spread of disinformation, warning that such activities could lead to confusion and undermine trust in its internal democratic processes.

“We urge all Party members and stakeholders to refrain from circulating unverified information that may mislead the public or compromise the integrity of the Party’s democratic procedures,” the statement concluded.
