2027: ‘It’ll be tough like WWE’ – Ndume on Tinubu facing Peter Obi, Atiku

Senator Ndume Compares 2027 Presidential Race to WWE Wrestling

Borno South Senatorial District representative Ali Ndume has likened the upcoming 2027 presidential election to the competitive and intense world of World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE).

In an interview with Channels Television’s “Sunday Politics,” Ndume addressed the mounting challenges facing his party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), particularly with prominent candidates such as Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, and Seyi Makinde entering the race.

When asked whether the APC and President Bola Tinubu can withstand the impending competition, Ndume expressed confidence but acknowledged the seriousness of the situation. “I am not that worried about it, but at the same time, I don’t take opponents for granted,” he said.

He emphasized the importance of honest communication within the party, suggesting that some advisers have struggled to convey the reality of the challenges ahead. “We are going to struggle it out together; it can be hard like the WWE; it’s going to be a tough fight.”

Ndume further remarked on the reactions he received after previously stating that the party would reciprocate what President Tinubu has done. “Many people that I didn’t expect to call me, called and shouted at me,” he noted.

Despite the challenges, Ndume reaffirmed his support for the president, stating, “The president is my president, he is in my party, we’re going to struggle it out together.” He reiterated that competitors like Peter Obi and Atiku Abubakar are not new to the political arena, having previously run for office.
