The Nigerian Revenue Service (NRS) introduced Rev360, a new digital tax administration platform, designed to provide an integrated and user-friendly experience for taxpayers and identify tax evaders. The launch occurred in Abuja on [insert date].
At the event, Dr. Zacch Adedeji, Executive Chairman of the NRS, described Rev360 as a pivotal step toward modernizing tax administration. The platform aims to enhance service delivery, strengthen compliance management, increase transparency, and simplify interactions between taxpayers and the agency.
“The launch underscores our commitment to innovation and digital transformation,” Adedeji said. “We are focused on building a modern revenue administration system that is efficient and responsive to both taxpayers and the Nigerian economy.”
Mr. Taiwo Oyedele, Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, emphasized the importance of technology-enabled tax systems. He stated that such advancements are essential for creating a transparent and business-friendly environment conducive to sustainable growth.
Represented by Mr. Mohammed Sanusi, the Permanent Secretary for Special Duties in the Ministry, Oyedele commended the NRS’s efforts and assured support for the successful implementation of Rev360.
Mrs. Bolaji Akintola, Executive Director of the Medium and Emerging Taxpayers Group, explained that Rev360 marks the first phase of a larger transformation initiative aimed at simplifying taxpayer interactions and enhancing the overall experience.
The platform is designed to streamline the processes of taxpayer onboarding, filing, payment processing, and compliance management. It will offer greater visibility and convenience to taxpayers, fostering confidence in fulfilling their obligations.
Mr. Iniabasi Akpkan, Executive Director of Technology, highlighted that Rev360’s technology foundation enables the NRS to effectively deliver its services at scale. He noted, “The platform’s design facilitates easier tax payments, making the process faster and more convenient, which can lead to increased voluntary compliance.”
The introduction of Rev360 illustrates the NRS’s strategic move towards a more modern, efficient tax administration system aimed at bolstering revenue generation in Nigeria’s evolving economic landscape.
