Why I took a break from music – YCee

Nigerian Artist YCee Discusses Musical Hiatus, Personal Growth
Nigerian singer Oludemilade Martin Alejo, known professionally as YCee, has addressed his recent absence from the music scene.
In a livestream session with fellow entertainer Cater Efe, the artist revealed that he stepped away from music to focus on personal development. “I have been on the mountain. I went on a journey of self-discovery. But I am back,” YCee said.
The musician also elaborated on the origin of his nickname “Omo Alhaji,” explaining that while his father is Muslim, he himself does not actively practice the faith. He characterized his personal spiritual philosophy as being rooted in the concept of love.
Before his hiatus, YCee gained prominence in the Nigerian music industry with popular tracks such as “Jagaban,” “Juice,” and “Omo Alhaji.” His return has been eagerly anticipated by fans and industry stakeholders alike.
