ROSOWA takes road safety sensitisation campaign to Ogun motor park

Road Safety Initiative Launched in Abeokuta

Abeokuta, Ogun State — The Road Safety Officers’ Wives Association (ROSOWA) held a road safety sensitization event on Saturday at Kuto Motor Park, part of ongoing efforts to enhance road safety awareness and reduce traffic accidents.

Led by Mrs. Morenikeji Ogunjobi, the wife of the Ogun Sector Commander and Chairperson of ROSOWA, the initiative aimed to inform motorists, commercial drivers, passengers, and other road users about the significance of adhering to traffic regulations.

During the event, Mrs. Ogunjobi underscored that many traffic accidents can be avoided if road users follow established safety standards. The sensitization session addressed critical safety issues, including speeding, reckless driving, vehicle overloading, and the dangers of using mobile phones while driving. The importance of wearing seat belts and not driving under the influence of alcohol were also emphasized.

Participants received information about the necessity of regular vehicle maintenance and the importance of following traffic signs and regulations. Interactive discussions facilitated by ROSOWA members encouraged attendees to adopt safer road use practices.

Mrs. Ogunjobi encouraged road users to demonstrate patience, discipline, and courtesy while on the roads. She reaffirmed ROSOWA’s commitment to collaborating with the Federal Road Safety Corps in public enlightenment campaigns aimed at preventing road crashes and saving lives.
