Ekiti 2026: INEC declares APC’s Oyebanji winner


The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has officially declared Biodun Oyebanji, the incumbent governor and candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), the winner of the 2026 Ekiti State governorship election.

Adenike Oladiji, the Returning Officer for the election, announced the results on Sunday. Oyebanji received 319,224 votes, securing a significant lead over his competitors.

Oluwole Oluyede of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) earned 40,543 votes, while Dare Bejide from the African Democratic Party (ADP) garnered 12,872 votes.

Oladiji reported that a total of 384,940 voters were accredited for the election. Among the ballots cast, 375,777 were deemed valid, while 6,332 votes were rejected.
