FCT projects are with Tinubu’s support – Wike

Minister Acknowledges Presidential Support at Water Project Launch in Abuja

ABUJA — Nyesom Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, credited President Bola Tinubu with essential support for various projects during a commissioning ceremony on Monday. The event marked the inauguration of the Water Supply Network for Karu Satellite Town, part of initiatives celebrating Tinubu’s three-year anniversary in office.

Vice President Kashim Shettima represented the president at the ceremony.

Wike highlighted the significance of the president’s previous commitment to expanding water supply infrastructure. “Mr. President, you will recall that last year during your second anniversary, you emphasized the need to extend services from the city to the Satellite Towns,” he said. He noted that Tinubu included funding for water supply to satellite towns in the 2025 National Budget, benefiting areas such as AMAC, Karu, and neighboring communities, as well as Bwari.

He expressed gratitude for the timely release of budget allocations, stating, “Because you directed the full and early release of funding, we are able to commission the water project in Karu and its surrounding areas less than a year after the contract was awarded.”

Wike also emphasized the importance of providing fundamental services, stating, “It’s not just about infrastructure and roads; access to clean water is vital for the community.” He expressed confidence that residents would appreciate the government’s efforts, reiterating that the “Renewed Hope Agenda is working.”

The ministry plans to commission a similar project in the Bwari Area Council on July 14.
