Swear Nigerians begging for money not increased under Tinubu — Rufai Oseni to Onanuga

Arise Television Anchor Criticizes Presidential Aide’s Comments on National Hunger
Arise Television anchor Rufai Oseni has publicly criticized Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Information and Strategy, for his remarks regarding the widespread hunger in Nigeria.
During a segment of Arise Television’s “Morning Show” on Wednesday, Oseni challenged Onanuga to affirm that he has not seen an increase in the number of Nigerians requesting financial assistance since Tinubu took office.
Describing Onanuga’s perspective on the nation’s economic hardships as misguided, Oseni asserted that the daily struggles experienced by many Nigerians contradict the aide’s claims.
In a recent television interview, Onanuga stated that he does not believe the level of hunger described by critics accurately reflects the situation for most Nigerians. He referenced various government initiatives, including infrastructure projects and student loan programs, as evidence of positive impacts on citizens’ lives.
Oseni responded directly, asking, “Bayo Onanuga should swear with the Bible that the number of Nigerians begging him for urgent N2,000 has not increased since Tinubu came to power.” He emphasized that Onanuga appears to be disconnected from the realities faced by ordinary people, arguing that the experiences of millions contradict notions that the suffering is overstated.
