Ex-Reps aspirant, Khalifa Pasali vows Hisbah for Plateau

Former House Candidate Advocates for Hisbah Corp in Plateau State
JOS, Nigeria — Khalifa Pasali, a former candidate for the House of Representatives representing the Bassa/Jos North Federal Constituency, has expressed his commitment to addressing rising societal issues in Plateau State. In a recent interview with journalists, Pasali outlined his proposal to support the establishment of a Hisbah Corps in the state, aimed at combating drug abuse, corruption, indiscipline, and other social vices.
Pasali voiced his concerns regarding the increases in these societal challenges, particularly in Jos North, which has a significant Muslim population. He emphasized that the absence of a Hisbah organization puts the Muslim community at a disadvantage. “We have over three million Muslims in Plateau State, and not having a body like Hisbah is a disadvantage to the Muslim community,” he said.
He believes that such an organization could foster moral values and play a significant role in addressing the social issues affecting the region. “An organization like Hisbah would help promote moral values and contribute to the fight against social vices affecting our society,” Pasali explained.
Despite not winning the election, he remains dedicated to advocating for initiatives that will benefit the residents of Plateau State. “I will continue to lobby for the establishment of Hisbah in Jos and will go to every extent possible to ensure Plateau gets what it deserves,” he added.
