Nigerian Reality Star Warns Young Women Against Living Alone

Nigerian reality television personality Pere Egbi is advising young, single women in the country not to live alone. In a tweet, the former Big Brother Naija contestant emphasized the importance of having someone stay with them, whether a friend or family member.

“Personal advice to young women living in Nigeria who are single: don’t live alone by yourself. Have someone stay with you always. A friend, family member. It’s never a cool thing to live alone as a woman,” he stated.

Egbi’s remarks come in the wake of public outcry following the tragic death of rising singer Ifunanya Nwangene. The 26-year-old, a former contestant on The Voice Nigeria, passed away after being bitten by a snake in her Abuja home. Nwangene was preparing for her first solo concert at the time of her death.

According to reports, the snake bite occurred while she was asleep. Efforts to treat her were hampered by difficulties in accessing anti-venom at nearby medical facilities, raising concerns about the state of emergency healthcare services in Nigeria. Many have since questioned the availability of life-saving treatments in critical situations.
