Kebbi varsity sacks ICT director, demotes staff over disciplinary breaches

Federal University Birnin Kebbi Dismisses ICT Director for Misconduct
The Governing Council of the Federal University Birnin Kebbi (FUBK) has terminated the employment of Isah Yusuf Tsafe, the former Director of Information and Communication Technology, due to gross misconduct and negligence. The decision follows findings that Tsafe failed to properly account for university assets under his control.
The university announced the decision in a statement from Jamilu Magaji, Head of Information and Public Relations, which outlined that the action came after thorough disciplinary proceedings that confirmed the allegations against Tsafe.
Additionally, the council has demoted Abdullahi Mohammed Adamu, an ICT staff member, by one grade level and prohibited him from receiving promotions for the next five years. Adamu was cited for engaging in financial transactions with parents of prospective students and involving himself in admissions activities, despite lacking official responsibility in the university’s admissions process.
The council has directed university management to recover or surcharge the value of all unaccounted university property associated with these cases. The statement emphasized the council’s commitment to maintaining standards of merit, discipline, and professionalism within the university, reaffirming its focus on accountability and responsible conduct.
