Bandits display cash obtained from kidnap ransom [Video]

A video has emerged online showing armed bandits displaying large sums of cash, which they claim were obtained through ransom payments, raising new concerns about escalating insecurity in Nigeria.

The footage was shared on Saturday by Bakatsine, a journalist noted for covering conflict and security issues in Nigeria’s North-West region. In his post on X, he commented, “This video shows bandits flaunting money obtained through ransom payments. May Allah bring an end to this tragedy and grant Nigeria lasting peace.”

According to reports from DAILY POST, kidnapping for ransom has become one of Nigeria’s most significant security challenges, particularly in the North-West and parts of the North-Central regions. Armed groups have frequently targeted communities, travelers, schools, and farmers.

Despite ongoing military efforts to combat these criminal gangs, instances of attacks and abductions remain prevalent across several states.
