BARKIN LADI, Plateau State – Troops conducting Operation Enduring Peace have apprehended a suspected kidnapper during a security operation in the Barkin Ladi Local Government Area.
The suspect, identified as 29-year-old Mohamdu Surajo, was detained in Sabon Layi village. The arrest follows ongoing security operations aimed at addressing crime in the region.
According to a statement from the Nigerian Army posted on the social media platform X, Surajo is currently in military custody, where he is undergoing preliminary interrogation to assist with ongoing investigations.
This action is part of a broader effort by security forces in Plateau State to dismantle criminal networks and reinforce safety measures across the area.
In a related incident, personnel from Operation Whirl Stroke reported the killing of a suspected kidnapper in Benue State earlier this week.
