FCT Police Command Conducts Raids, Arrests 560 Suspects
The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has executed multiple operations in Abuja aimed at disrupting criminal activity, resulting in the arrest of approximately 560 suspects. This initiative was based on intelligence gathering and community policing.
Commissioner of Police Ahmed Muhammed Sanusi made the announcement during a press briefing on Tuesday. He detailed that the raids were conducted by various divisions within the Command, leading to the capture of suspected criminals and the seizure of illicit substances, firearms, and other evidence.
Among the recovered weapons were one locally fabricated pistol, one locally fabricated AK-47 rifle, and three rounds of 9mm ammunition.
Sanusi emphasized the commitment of the FCT Police Command to eradicating criminal elements from the capital. He urged the public to continue collaborating with law enforcement by providing timely information to assist in ongoing anti-crime efforts, which aim to ensure the safety and security of residents in the FCT.
